Just a few things I'm doing in January

January has me crafting a few new hand embroidery pieces, I am working on a dance and drumming series as I explore my recent interest in drumming.

This is the top half of my woman playing the frame drum below is the bottom half
I recently purchased a copy of Layne Redmond's When the Drummers Were Women, a book that has just been reprinted though Echo Point books and is available on their website as well as Amazon and Barnes and Noble. I had an original copy and lent it to a friend that was hosting a study group and somehow it was lost in the mail on the return trip, for about a year I had watched for a reasonably price copy on Amazon and Ebay and found one I thought I had purchased only to find out I never finished the buying process and I refused to pay $75.00 to 250.00 for a used copy, so I was thrilled it was reprinted.
I have 2 Remo Frame Drums which I am slowly learning to play and yesterday I was headed to a free drum class and jam session but something came up.  I also missed the first 2019 gathering of the local women's circle last night which really irritated me but someday's life just doesn't cooperate, I was lying down and actually fell asleep and didn't wake until after eight.  Do you ever have moments like that when you have planned out your day and then poof something happens, truth to tell I was laying down because I had a headache and was hoping it would help, well it did in the way of a 4 hour  nap, which is my own fault because I was up until nearly 3 a.m. the day before.

I have also been working on my shell stitch afghan I'm crocheting, I'm using Lion Brand's Mandala yarn in Echo Caves colorway, I think the colors look beachy. It's folded in half in the photo.
My friend sent me a little surprise this week  a set of Wisdom of the Crone cards, I haven't seen these in years so it will be interesting to explore the cards.
I will leave you with a little inspiration that brought a big smile to my face.
