A Few Books for the Witchy Reading Challenge

I picked up a few books from the library today and two of them will be read for the 2021 Witchy Year Reading Challenge.

The Daughters of Temperance Hobbs by Katherine Howe also wrote The Physick Book of Deliverance Dane which I read in April 2015. I'm not sure if the book is a series or just a follow up since both books have the same main character.
I finished reading  Year of the Witch by Temperance Alden and also read a quick cozy mystery Charms and Chocolate Chips by Bailey Cates, its a Magical Bakery series brewing magically spiced treats with a coven of hedge witches, this was the 3rd book in the series, I started the 4th book Some Enchanted Eclair yesterday.

On the crafty side of life I finished the January Goddess for my Goddess a month for 2021 project.

I began the hand embroidery on another Brigid's Cross piece and have to put the finishing touches of the sketch for the February Goddess.

There us quite a bit of detail in this design so it won't be ready for Brigid's day this year which is fine with me I just like having a few embroidery pieces reading to stitch.

A Reading Challenge for 2021

It’s been a few years since I participated in a reading challenge which is odd for me since I read quite a bit so this year I am participating in the 2021 Witchy Year Reading Challenge. I read all kinds of books being a life long practicing Witch pagan books are on the top of my to be read books. I read both non-fiction and fiction.

I love a fun cozy mystery with or without a little magic thrown in for fun and I like to keep current on what is being read in the pagan community so I should be able to do this challenge all year. Here is the link if you would like more information or to join in the challenge.

The first book I’m reading is Year of the Witch by Temperance Alden (non fiction)

January Goddess Stitching

The hand embroidery on my January goddess is progressing very nicely, in addition to using DMC Coloris floss 4509 I'm using DMC floss 3836 on the central spirals.   Here are a few photos of the progress, the back of the stitchery better shows the flow of the coloris floss which changes after about an inch of stitching.  The flow will change depending on where you cut and when you start the next piece of floss.

The work on this goddess for January is going quite fast so I may wind up doing a second goddess for January.
